3.7%

of global greenhouse gas emissions come from plastics. That number is where the name comes from.

Why 3point7
Plastics · 3.7% All other global emissions · 96.3%

Estimate at the time 3point7 was named. Later estimates range from about 3.5% to 5%. I kept the name as a reminder of where the industry needs to go.

01 · What you get

Not generic sustainability content. Training that knows your materials.

Built for decision-makers

Purchasing, sales, finance, technical and operations, learning together. The people whose choices shape a footprint.

CLP-accredited

Built to the Carbon Literacy Project standard. Every learner can gain an official Carbon Literacy certificate.

About the Carbon Literacy Project

Grounded in industry

Written by someone who has worked in polymer materials. Real examples from manufacturing, processing and distribution.

Quick check

How carbon literate is your team?

Three questions, about a minute. Answer for your team as a whole, not just yourself.

A quick self-check, not an assessment. For the full picture of what Carbon Literacy covers, visit the Carbon Literacy Project.

01If someone asked where most of your organisation’s emissions come from, could your team answer?
02When your team makes a purchasing, product or process decision, does carbon come into it?
03Could your team explain your sustainability targets to a customer?

02 · Courses

Two ways to get your team certified.

Start with a ready-made course, or build one around your organisation. Both lead to the same CLP certificate.

Carbon Literacy for Materials and Manufacturing

A complete, proven course covering what you buy, what you make, and where it goes after it leaves your site. You pay for seats, not for course development.

Talk about a tailored course

Less time away from the day job

Either course can blend live sessions with interactive eLearning. Learners cover the groundwork at their own pace, so time together goes on discussion and action. Need flexibility more than certification? I also build standalone sustainability eLearning.

Inside the standard course

Four modules, one day.

Hands-on, not lectures. Group work, quizzes and plenty of post-its, with interactive eLearning where it saves time in the room.

01

Climate science

How the climate works, what's changing, and why it matters to business.

02

Your own footprint

What a footprint is, and the actions that make the biggest difference.

03

Where the carbon sits

Your value chain, lower-carbon materials, and making honest green claims.

04

Taking action

Everyone leaves with two pledges. They earn the certificate.

03 · How it works

From first call to certificate.

Live sessions, online or in person. Full day, two half-days or four two-hour sessions, to fit around your diary. Add interactive eLearning to cut the time in sessions further.

  1. 01

I get to know your business

Your products, your teams and where the big decisions are made, so the training speaks your language.

  2. 02

    Your cohort learns together

Short talks, individual tasks and group activities. People from different departments, solving real problems.

  3. 03

    Everyone commits to two actions

Each learner writes two actions to cut carbon in their own role. I help shape them so they count.

  4. 04

    The CLP certifies

The Carbon Literacy Project independently checks each pledge and issues the certificate.

A materials person who trains.

I'm Kirsty, and 3point7 is me. I'm an accredited Carbon Literacy Project facilitator with a decade in the materials industry, as a teacher, a trainer and a development technologist for polymer materials.

As Sustainability Lead at a polymer manufacturer, I brought Carbon Literacy training on site. I've trained full-time since 2023, with learners in Europe, Asia and the US.

“Training has to be enjoyable to be impactful.”
